Top 5 Places you must go to on your 1st trip to Jeju Island pt.1

These 5 places are the most “Jejuish” places both Jeju people and travellers must visit. All the destinations are beautiful natural sights that might just take your breath away. When you walk around these places, you delve into the genuine, real Jeju Island. There’s no place in Jeju that you shouldn’t leave out but these are the 5 destinations that you must visit for your first time trip in Jeju Island from my own personal experience. This is only part 1, expect more to come.

Seongsan Sunrise Peak

Seongsan Ilchulbong also known as Sunrise Peak is one of the magical places that people visit to welcome in a new year. One thing to keep in mind when you go there is that it’s not easy to climb as it rises to 182m above sea level, with its steep slope. Yet the gust of wind that swirls around your entire body on the peak will more than make up for the tired legs .  On the top of Seongsan Ilchulbong stands 99 chiseled rocks in a crown-like formation, and between them rests a large meadow.1281931115_5

Love Land

Love Land is a sculpture park based on the theme of sensuality and the eroticism of love. Top artists, mostly from Korea’s top art school Hongik University, assisted in open Loveland all the way back in November 2004. It was the first such museum in Korea at that time and still is to this day. The spacious park is home to over 140 sculptures, 40 of the sculptures are within the gallery and 100 of them are outside. The park as a whole looks like a piece of land art.

Jeju Love Land is open to adults only 7 days a week. It usually takes around 40 minutes to look around the whole park. Love Land houses a glass laden restaurant, an spacious café, an art shop, and various works of art which visitors can touch if they dare. Love Land is an attractive location where art and eroticism meet in a cool, fun and humorous fashion without conservatism bearing down on it.6-5_loveland_6
