Day trips in Korea : Everland

Day trips in Korea : Everland

Whether you are living in South Korea or have come here for a short trip, there are so many activities to do and sights to see that it will get your head spinning from trying to decide. At the end of the day, it boils down to what your own interests are, and whether you have the people around you for what you would like to do, or if it’s something that can be done alone.

One wonderfully fun idea for spending a day with a friend or even a group of them, whilst getting your blood pumping with adrenaline, is by going to an amusement park for the day!

There is one with easy access to right in Seoul, but if you’re ready for the big and better thing, hop on a bus that will take you to Everland instead. Especially if you live in Seoul, it’ll be a super easy day trip for you, with buses to take from Gangbyeon, Jamsil, and Gangnam, for example, taking less than 2 hours to get there.

If you want to ensure that you have the time to go through all the possible rides of your choosing, it’s best that you get to the park in the morning right around its opening time. Especially if it’s the weekend you’re travelling on! Another tip is to start with the pandas – yes, they have real, adorable pandas! – before moving onto the actual rides as it closes a bit earlier than other parts of the park. You’ll regret it if you don’t!

Then it’s time to get to the rides! Everland is massive in size, so you may want to grab a map by the entrance to get some insight on what rides are offered. That way, you can time yourself in a way that you won’t miss out on the rides on the other side of the park, even if it means that you won’t get to check out absolutely every single one of them.

Overall, you’ll find yourself waiting for about 30 minutes for each ride, which isn’t a bad of a queue at all considering the amount of people living in the country. However, the two most popular rides, which are the Thunder Falls (a rollercoaster type of a ride over water) and T Express (the massive wooden rollercoaster with a steep drop), are likely to have longer queues, anywhere from 1 hour to even 1 and a half hours! Thus, make sure you’ve allocated enough time for the rides if you want to do them. Personally, we especially recommend riding T Express out of all the rides at the park!

The park also offers other types of entertainment besides traditional amusement park rides. There is the Panda World, as mentioned previously, on top of which there is also a small safari, a petting zoo, and multiple different VR experiences to choose from.

So, how about it? Did we just get you busy planning your trip to Everland?
