Enjoy Jeonju By Taking A “Night Walk”

One of the popular and tourist destinations that takes place is people going to the Southwestern city of Jeonju.
Nightly walk in the beautiful province of Jeonju
Jeonju is a city in South Korea, and is the capital of North Jeolla Province. Jeonju is a popular tourist destination because it is famous for its Korean food, historic buildings, sports activities, and innovative festivals.
Jeonju Hanok Village [Slow City] (전주한옥마을 [슬로시티]
When you visit Jeonju, notice the Hanok Village, which is located in the city of Jeonju and overlaps Pungnam-dong and Gyo-dong. There are over 800 traditional Korean hanok (houses), which are beautiful for its unique roof edges. Jeonju Hanok Village has many activities for foreigners to experience when they visit. Some of the traditional activities are Korean paper making, tasting traditional tea/listening to musical instruments, taking part in traditional activities, and more.

Jeonju Hanok Living Experience Center
The major tourist sites when visiting Jeonju is the Jeonju Hanok Living Experience Center, which is a guesthouse facility. This place is great for people to experience the rich traditional culture of Korea. Since the guesthouse is open all year round, visitors can learn traditional folk songs and participate in traditional tea parties, with meals being included.
Dongnagwon House
Dongnagwon House in Jeonju is a memorial hall dedicated to W.M. Junkin, who came to Korea as a missionary from the South Presbyterian Church of the United States. When visiting, you will learn and experience traditional Korean culture such as crafts, music, and dance.
Jeonju Traditional Hanji Center
Visitors should go to Jeonju Traditional Hanji Center, which has been a major producer of quality hanji (한지) paper for more than a thousand years. Hanji paper is made from the inner bark of Paper Mulberry, which is a tree native to South Korea. When you visit, you will be able to see the hanji paper because there are exhibits in the Hanji Center.
Jeonju Crafts Exhibition Hall
Looking to see beautiful traditional Korean crafts, then you will want to stop by the Jeonju Crafts Exhibition Hall. While there, you will be able to create your own craft mastery, and learn the art of mulberry paper, woodwork, pottery, embroidery, and other traditional crafts.
How to get there
Now that you know what the major tourist hotspots are, asking how to get into Jeonju is the next question. So, from Seoul, take the KTX to Iksan, and then you can take either a bus or train. If you are looking to get there quicker, it is going to be a little bit pricey. Taking about two hours, you can take the KTX all the way to the Jeonju Train Station, which you sometimes have to transfer to Iksan. My recommendation is to take the Express buses, which cost as little as 15,000 KRW (about $13), and takes about two hours and thirty minutes.
Getting around Jeonju Hanok Village
Looking to do some sightseeing and do not want to exhaust yourself from walking, there is a fantastic bus system that you can take, which will cost 1,100 KRW (0.98$).
“Night Walk” takes place in August and September
The “Night Walk” in Jeonju is currently taking place and will take place only twice, from August 12th to 13th, and September 30th to October 1st, as part of the Cultural Heritage Administration night heritage travel program.
