Experience One Of The Oldests Markets In Seoul: Gwangjang Market

Gwangjang Market is one of the oldest traditional markets in Seoul, and is one of the markets to visit in Seoul for visitors. Not only known for selling traditional items such as clothes, food and household items, the market is also famous for its food stalls that sell traditional Korean food.

The market is one of the biggest and oldest in Seoul, with more than 5000 stalls. Opening hours for the general stores are 8:30 am to 7 pm, while the food stalls are open from 8:30 am to 11 pm.

If you’re looking for traditional Korean items to bring home, Gwangjang is the place to visit. As the vendors are known for their high quality, they even supply vendors at Namdaemun market and even some department stores.

Though, the thing many tourists come to Gwangjang market for is the traditional food. Most of the stalls are designed the same way, with a small kitchen and chairs around it for customers to sit and eat at.

Famously known for mayak kimbap, various types on jeon and nokdu bindaetteok.
