This restaurant’s most popular dish is Hamheung-naengmyeon which is a dish that was passed down from Hamgyeongdo long ago. The noodles are made with starch, mixed with red pepper paste and raw skate. If it is too spicy for you, eat it with muchojeorim (shredded radish) which is supposed to cool the spiciness off your tongue. Usually, the raddish is served as a side dish and can be refilled free of charge.

2. Yookssam Naengmyeon

Yookssam Naengmyeon is a chain naengmyeon restaurant and it’s so popular that many celebrities visited this restaurant! The menu is pretty simple which consists of two of the naengmyen, Mul & Bibim. Other than the main dish of cold noodles, it comes along well with some grilled pork, at a reasonable price! Probably it’s the only restaurant that serve BBQ pork as a compliment for naengmyeon.

3. Pyeongyang Myeonok

This place is well known for its broth, and the fine noodles. If you prefer the strong taste naengmyeon that is usually served all around, then you might not like the dish in this restaurant. The soup here is light, and the broth is so clear that you may think it’s water, which is the specialty of this restaurant! Thanks to the light soup, it’s really refreshing, and definitely recommended for the hot sweltering heat of Summer!
