Namsangol Hanok Village: The Traditional Experience
When you get off at Chungmoro station exit 3, you will be right in front of Namsangol Hanok Village. The village has village sits between tall buildings, but has restored buildings from the Joseon dynasty.
When you enter it, you will get the feeling like you’re back in the Joseon Dynasty. As a lot of effort, has gone into making visitors feel like they are back in the Joseon Dynasty.
The name Namsangol comes from, the fact that the village is located at the foot of Namsan. Which is also gives you a good view of the mountain, as well as the Seoul N Tower which sits on the top of Namsan.
The village is also the site of Seoul Millennium Time Capsule. Which was made to mark Seoul’s, 600th anniversary as the nations capital. 600 items were put in the capsule, which will be opened November 29, 2394. Which is the day of Seoul’s 1000th anniversary, marking the 1000th year has been the capital of South Korea for.
Here you can also experience, various of old Korean traditional games . Such as seasaw jumping, arrow throwing and yunnori. While on weekends, you can experience a traditional Korean marriage, which takes place at Bak Yeong Hyo’s residence. The wedding usually takes place at 1 pm. or at noon, though there are less ceremonies during the winter.
The village is open year round, with opening hours during the summer being 9:00 am. to 9 pm. while the village opening at 9 am. during the winter, and closing at 8 pm.
