PLATOON KUNSTHALLE
Platoon Kunsthalle is a project that started in Seoul in 2009. Located in the middle of Gangnam, it has a unique view and philosophy. It is set as a space for subculture in Asia, welcoming new ideas, new artists and conections. It is based upon a german sub-cultural movement – kunsthalle means art hall in german. The building in Seoul (they also have one in Berlin, Germany) have three floors and it is made of 28 container boxes.
Every event they make, it is possible to rearrange the structure of the building. A variety of cultural events and programs are hosted in this place, with many artists around the world collaborating with modern paintings, fashion styles and designs. On the first floor, you may find some work by young artists.
The bar and restaurant are open from monday to friday from 11am to midnight. They’ve got drinks and some good german food. Also, on thursday and friday nights, they usually hosts a party night, run by guest dj’s. Some movie events also happens from time to time. Until not long ago, every first saturday of the month, from 6pm to 1am used to be held a Night Flea Market. Lots of good stuff and pretty people!
