Take a Day Trip to Seoraksan National Park
Seoraksan is the third highest mountain in South Korea, located in the Gangwon-do province. Located nearby Sokcho city, on the east coast of South Korea. The mountain lies 2 and a half hours away from Seoul with express bus, about 200 kilometers. A ticket with the express bus will set you back about 20,000 KRW depending on the bus company, to Sokcho city, from there you can take a local bus going to the Seoraksan national park.
Seoraksan is a really popular destination among travellers and locals, due to its stunning scenery and the fresh air. The park is home to several spectacular natural sights, such as Mount Gwonggeumseong, Ulsanbawi, Biryong and Cheondang. Though the park is also home to the Bronze Buddha of Sinheungsa and the Sinheungsa temple.
The mountain has several paths, depending on how an experienced hiker you are. With the time of completing the trails ranging from 2.5 hours to 3.5 hours, though with the time going down being a lot faster than going up the trails.
The park has two famous waterfalls, which are along two different routes. It’s also possible to visit the Sinheungsa buddhist temple, which also has a massive bronze Buddha statue. Open during the national parks opening days, with admission being 2,500 KRW per person.

From Seoul go to the Express Bus Terminal,
From the Express Bus Terminal, take an express bus to Sokcho city.
When you arrive at Sokcho city, you should take bus 7-1 to Seoraksan National Park.
