Cherry blossom has been the talk of the season when it comes to Spring in Korea. Also known as sakura in Japan, this lovely flowers can be seen in Korea too. As romantic as it seems, these flowers are as fragile as they look, it usually only lasts for a week or two. So, don’t ever miss the chance to snap a selfie with these bunch of beautiful rare flowers while you can. Here are some popular cherry blossom spots that you should visit.

1. Yeouido Park

In mid April, Yeouido’s will become a spectacular sight when the azaleas, forsythia, royal azaleas, and other spring flowers are in full bloom. Yeouido is famous for its 1,886 Korean Cherry trees during Spring season where it attracted millions of visitors every year.

During the festival, cars are not allowed to enter the road to give way to the visitors to enjoy the blossoms and festivities without the need to worry about cars coming from left and right. In the night, the cherry blossoms are lit up with various colored lights and a wide range of street performances and art exhibitions will also take place.

2. Yeouinaru Station (Seoul Subway Line 5), Exit 1.

This beautiful campus’ main charm is the old buildings that are well preserved. In the spring, approximately 200 cherry trees will be in full bloom, lining the road from the front gate to the main building, while creating a perfect atmosphere for picnics or romantic dates.

Other cherry blossom sites include the paths connecting the main fountain and the College of Law building, as well as the stretch from the College of Hotel Management to the Art College building.

Seokchon Lake at Jamsil Station is another one of the best places to view cherry blossoms in Seoul. The lake itself is nothing much to see, however, when you bring your sight towards the castle of Lotte World and the cherry blossoms as the background, everything looks magical and instantly different.

4. Namsan Seoul Tower

The Namsan Circular Road that connects Namsan Library to Namsan Octagonal Pavilion is a beautiful scenic route lined with forsythias, azaleas, and cherry blossoms.

The walk from Namsan Library at the base to Palgakjeong Pavilion at the top of the mountain takes about 40 minutes. You can also take the Namsan Cable Car or the Namsan Shuttle Bus to the top, both of which offer fantastic views of Seoul.

Cable Car
– Myeongdong Station (Seoul Subway Line 4), Exit 3  Walk 10 min. towards the Embassy of China.
